Reduce carbon emissions without compromising scale and continuity of supply.
Air Liquide operates in over 80% of the national territory with more than 1,300 employees. Its goal was to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by ⅓ by 2035 and achieve neutrality by 2050. To do this, it needed a renewable supply that delivered predictability and competitiveness at scale.
Self-production PPA by equivalence with the Folha Larga Sul Wind Complex
Air Liquide and Casa dos Ventos signed a long-term Power Purchase Agreement for the acquisition of renewable energy, with a total capacity of 24 average MW, intended to supply Air Liquide's operations in Brazil.
The energy began to be supplied by Casa dos Ventos' Folha Larga Sul Wind Complex, located in Bahia, with 151.2 MW of total installed capacity.
Our partnership with Casa dos Ventos represents a significant step in the decarbonization of Air Liquide's operations in Brazil. In line with the Group's strategy, it allows us not only to reduce our carbon footprint but also to support our customers in their decarbonization process.
Says Rodrigo Jorge, General Manager of Air Liquide Brazil.
