Air Liquide and Casa dos Ventos signed a long-term Power Purchase Agreement for the acquisition of renewable energy, with a total capacity of 24 MW, to supply Air Liquide's operations in Brazil.
The wind energy generated will allow Air Liquide to reduce CO2 emissions associated with its operations. For comparison, the value is equivalent to the electricity of almost 3,000 Brazilian households. Casa dos Ventos, a leading Brazilian renewable energy company, will supply renewable energy from its Folha Larga Sul Wind Complex, located in Bahia, which has 151.2 MW of capacity.
This agreement represents a new step in the actions Air Liquide is already taking for increasingly sustainable operations. At Group level, and in the context of its Sustainable Development objectives, Air Liquide aims to reduce its scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions by one third by 2035 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
