The award reflects the company's role as a strategic partner for organizations seeking to strengthen their ESG agenda
A protagonist in the Brazilian industry's decarbonization journey, Casa dos Ventos received the seal as the largest issuer of wind I-RECs in the country in 2025. Celebrated during I-REC Day, this achievement highlights the company's role in transforming climate commitments into practical results. With a robust offering of environmental attributes, the company positions itself as the vital link for sectors demanding high sustainable performance, reinforcing its authority as the engine of Brazil's low-carbon economy.
The result reflects the robustness of Casa dos Ventos' portfolio and its capacity for generating and commercializing renewable energy certificates. Throughout 2025, the company issued over 4 million wind I-RECs. This volume may increase as companies can still obtain certifications related to their 2025 inventories.
I-RECs (International Renewable Energy Certificates) are certificates that prove the renewable origin of consumed energy, allowing companies to offset their indirect carbon emissions (scope 2) and advance their decarbonization strategies. Each certificate is equivalent to 1 MWh of generated renewable energy, serving as an important instrument for traceability and incentive for the energy transition.
Casa dos Ventos' Commercial Director, Itamar Lessa, highlighted that the recognition is directly linked to the company's portfolio diversification strategy, which offers a wide range of solutions capable of driving the decarbonization journey of companies with diverse profiles.
"This award reinforces our vision that the energy transition goes beyond renewable energy generation. We have consistently advanced in offering solutions in environmental attributes, such as I-RECs, which allow our clients to accelerate their decarbonization goals with security and traceability," he stated.
The company's activity in this market integrates a broader diversification strategy, combining the expansion of assets as a renewable energy generator and developer with advancements in solutions associated with the carbon market and environmental certificates.
The company is also expanding its presence in the carbon credit market, with projects totaling hundreds of thousands of tons of CO₂ avoided and the potential to generate millions of credits per year, strengthening its position as a complete platform of solutions for the energy transition.
