June 5 (SeeNews) - The Brazilian Ministry of Mines and Energy authorised last Friday two wind projects totalling 50 MW to enter the national Incentive Regime for Infrastructure Development (REIDI).
Both projects are located in the city of Caetes, Pernambuco state and are part of a 220-MW complex by Brazilian renewable energy developer Casa dos Ventos.
The 26-MW EOL Ventos de Sao Clemente 6 project comprises 13 turbines that will be erected at a total cost of BRL 96.3 million (USD 30.6m/EUR 27.1m). Meanwhile, the EOL Ventos de Sao Clemente 7 park has 12 turbines, 24 MW in total, and requires an investment of BRL 88.9 million. The two projects are scheduled for construction between February 10, 2016 and January 10, 2017.
REIDI, launched in 2007, grants tax incentives to companies investing in infrastructure projects within the transport, energy, sanitation and irrigation sectors.
